Why baby led weaning?? First off, I can’t with the name. I have zero intention of weaning in any capacity at the moment. But that’s actually a pro of this approach as well - babies naturally don’t consume much of anything at this point. It’s more about learning the tastes, textures, and smells, working on fine motor development, and feeling included in mealtimes! Pro number two, no extra groceries or prep - baby eats what you eat (minus added salt and sugar). Pro number three, and this is just from my own personal experience being three kids in, but they have a more knowledgeable relationship with food from the get go, being presented with it in its natural form (ie: not blended up and mixed together with five+ other things). With my first I did start with some mashed foods because I’ll admit I was nervous about this approach, but now there’s no looking back 👏🏼
